The Resurrection of Street Sign: A Pop Punk Comeback Tangerang Scene Kids Have Been Waiting For

After nearly a decade-long hiatus, pop punk band Street Sign is back, reigniting excitement among longtime friends while capturing a new audience. Originally formed in 2013, they released their debut EP, The End of What We Used to Be, in 2014, quickly becoming a favorite in the local scene. However, following personal pursuits, the band went quiet in 2015.

Now, in 2024, Street Sign has returned with a refreshed lineup. Original lead vocalist Adyt (who’s also the founding member) is still there as a frontliner, assisted  by new member Malick on bass—whom Adyt knows from the Pamulang local scene—and Ucup and Upi on guitars, both from the skatepunk band Racerbomb which has done a collaboration with Adyt himself back then. This new configuration promises to bring dynamic energy to the band.

Their upcoming re-release, The End of What We Used to Be Decade Ago, features the original tracks revamped with modern arrangements and richer instrumentation, incorporating influences from indie rock and electronic music. What truly sets Street Sign apart is their relatable lyrics, with themes of love, heartbreak, friendship, and self-discovery resonating deeply with listeners. The lead single, “Dead-end Hopes,” exemplifies this evolution, blending catchy riffs with introspective lyrics.

To celebrate their return, Street Sign is looking forward to collaborating with an event organizer for a release party, aiming to create a memorable event that unites fans and showcases their new music. This comeback is a testament to the enduring spirit of pop punk, reminding fans that while the journey may change, the music—and its powerful, relatable messages—remain strong. Whether you’re a longtime supporter or discovering them for the first time, Street Sign’s revival is set to be an exciting experience.
